Time Stands Still When You're Sitting in a Hospital

OK, so maybe time didn't actually stand still. Maybe it was the fact that my husband was in the hospital for 8 days when he had open heart surgery. It just felt like we were there forever. Surgery went well. He is doing great. I have managed, for the most part, to not completely fall part. I have had a few meltdowns. I'm entitled, right? The hard part was hiding said meltdowns from the hubby. I'm happy to say, I even managed to do that. Every day I would take my fully packed backpack - with book, iPod, knitting, etc. Every night I would bring it home. Rarely during the day did anything come out of the backpack. I had visions of completing several pairs of socks while sitting at hubby's bedside. Instead, I was too mentally drained to concentrate and too busy playing run and fetch for hubby. So, hopefully, I can get some of those socks done over the next 4 weeks that he will be off of work. I won't be doing much else during that time. More to come...
