Knitting and Waiting

I have been knitting socks - socks for my daughter, socks for my niece, socks for Christmas presents - lots of socks.  I never thought I would say this.  I am tired of knitting socks!  I am almost done with the pair of Cauchy that I am working on in burgundy Gloss.  That is the last pair that I am doing for a while.  Of course, I might be moving on to fingerless mittens, not really a big change.  I'm also still working on the Miter Square Afghan for my dear friend.  I have completed more than 3/4 of the squares.  So, then all I have to do is lay it all out and seam 80 squares together.  No big deal (ha!).

Now for the waiting - I have 2 orders from Knit Picks on their way to me as I type.  One, is an order I placed on Sept. 17.  It should have been here more than a week ago.  But, after a detour to Sacramento and New Berlin, WI, it should be here in the next day or two.  It has the Gloss DK that I want to use on the fingerless mittens.  It's been so long, I'm not sure what colors I ordered.  One was a gray, one was called Whirlpool and the third is Cranberry, I think.  The other order is for the Classic Lines Cardi that I have finally decided to knit.  I am actually going to knit something for me.  Such a rare happening!  I had to go with my second choice on the colors, but I hope the finished project matches the pic in my head.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot - I am also dong the Mystery Colorwork KAL at Knit Picks.  So far, it has been fun.  I still don't have a guess for what the finished project will be.  I'm just viewing it as practice!

Guess that is it for now.  Happy knitting!!
